The Santa Barbara Public Library will be hosting a Community Baby Shower at the Central Library, located at 40 East Anapamu Street, on Saturday June 25  at 11:00 a.m. If you’re expecting a baby or have a little one already, this baby shower is for you! Participants are welcome to come by anytime during this free event to see what the library and community organizations have to offer for your new baby.

Participants are encouraged to connect with community organizations and resources, learn how to support their baby’s health, development, and early literacy, and find out what the library offers for new parents and caregivers. Local organizations will be tabling with fun activities and resources to share. These includeCottage Hospital, PEP, Baby Sign Sessions, UCSB Child Studies, Children’s Resources and Referral, International Cesarean Awareness Network, Villa Majella, Tinkle Belle Diaper Service, Santa Barbara Birth Center, Family Service Agency, Communify, Then Comes Baby, WIC, Kinder Music, Centerline, and Oaks Parent-Child Workshop. The first 50 people through the door will get a gift bag with swag and toys from the partnering community organizations and a free board book from the Santa Barbara Public Library.

The library serves as a gathering place for families and provides regular storytimes and other learning opportunities for babies. This is a chance for new parents to connect with each other and the organizations in our community that serve them, discover learning resources, and learn more about early literacy, all under one roof.

This event is supported in part by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.
