Community Asked to Participate in Milpas Corridor Planning Effort

Source: City of Santa Barbara

Join City Public Works at a Listening Workshop to plan for the future of the Milpas Street Corridor. The Listening Workshop’s purpose is to discover community desires and needs for the future of Milpas Street from Highway 101 to Canon Perdido Street. Specifically, the City is looking for feedback about walking, biking, traffic, parking, lighting, parkway trees, and landscaping.

The Listening Workshop will be held on Tuesday, October 1 at 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the Franklin Community Center. View the Workshop Flyer for details.

Public Works staff will propose approaches to address the community’s feedback at a follow-up meeting in December. A community-supported project for the Milpas Corridor will strengthen Santa Barbara’s applications for state and federal grant funding awards in 2020.

A design update on the grant-funded Eastside Green Lanes & Bike Boulevard Gap Closure Project will also be provided at the workshop.
