The U.S. Coast Guard has suspended its search after reports of a downed aircraft off the Ventura Coast after a false report.

Less than 24 hours after the initial report the Coast Guard stated it was determined that no aircraft entered the water near Faria Beach on Friday. After further investigation, the report of an airplane crash yesterday was inaccurate. The plane was fine and landed at an airport.

The U.S. Coast Guard is searching the ocean off the Ventura Coast after reports of a downed aircraft.

Around 1:45 p.m. Friday, the Ventura County Fire Department and Coast Guard reported an investigation of an aircraft down near Mussel Shoals and Faria Beaches.

Five boats, two jet skis, and two aircraft have been searching from Mussle Shoals to Mondo’s Beach while officials speak with people on the scene to verify the reports.

As of 4:45 p.m., no debris or pollution has been located in the water.

This is a developing story.
