The annual Santa Barbara Parks and Recreation sponsored event is one of the community’s finest summer traditions.

Thousands of people flock to Chase Palm Park on Thursday night to dance and enjoy the summer weather across from East Beach. Just be sure you lay your blanket down for prime spots at noon.

This past Thursday, fan-favorite Captain Cardiac and the Coronaries sang classic cover songs from the 50’s and 60’s. Local photographer Fritz Olenberger was there to capture the excitement.

Concerts in the Park will take a break on August 1st during Old Spanish Days Fiesta, but it will resume for its last two performances. All concerts are free and are held from 6:00-8:30 p.m. Thursday nights in Chase Palm Park at the Great Meadow Stage.

Lightnin’ Willie and the Poorboys, the Biggest Little Blues Band on Earth, will perform on August 8 and The Blue Breeze Band, the Best of Motown/R&B, will perform this summer’s final concert. Learn more here.
