City Council to Revise Parking Requirements

The Santa Barbara City Council will take up revising parking requirements all over the City on June 19th. The idea is to allow developers to install mechanical lifts and automated puzzle parkers in commercial and residential buildings. One of the main sticking points seems to be the fact that only sub compact, compact and mid-sized cars can fit in the lifts or parkers.

Originally the idea was to have 100% of parking requirements met, less handicapped and EV charging stations, with the lifts and parkers. Now the plan is to have 75% of required parking met by lifts and parkers. I believe the total population of Full and Over-sized vehicles is likely greater than 25%.

Does anyone know where to find out what the % of Full and Over-sized vehicles are for personal use is in the US or the State is? – On another note, what do people think about this idea?
