A 12-year-old sustained severe head trauma after falling from a bicycle near Lompoc on Monday.
At 3:48 p.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to the area of Burton Mesa and Calle Quarta in Mission Hills. They discovered a child with major head trauma after falling from a bicycle.
Paramedics on the scene treated the child who was then transported by ground ambulance to Lompoc Hospital. From there a Calstar helicopter transported the patient to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
The current condition of the child is unknown at this time.
The child was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Santa Barbara County firefighters encourage helmet use for all ages when riding bicycles.
Often you see parents riding with their kids, and the kids are wearing helmets but the parents are not. It always makes me think- what’s wrong with this picture?
Maybe the kid took his helmet off? Christ why do you people always want to sh*% on someone so bad, calm the heck down and hope for this kids recovery
