The Ceylon International Film Festival (CEYIFF) is set to dazzle Santa Barbara with its 3rd Annual celebration of international cinema and cultural diversity from September 24th through September 28th.
This year’s festival promises an impressive showcase with a record 275 film submissions from over 45 countries, highlighting the rich storytelling and creative visions of global filmmakers.
The week-long festival kicks off on September 24th with free screenings at Direct Relief International’s Hatch Hall located at 6100 Wallace Becknell Rd. Film enthusiasts can enjoy a variety of shorts, animations, documentaries, and feature films at two showtimes daily, 2:30 pm and 5:00 pm, from Tuesday through Friday.
The grand finale, which requires tickets, is scheduled for the evening of September 28th at the historic Lobero Theatre. This spectacular closing night celebrates the best films of the festival and features a unique cultural performance that fuses elements from Eastern and Western traditions, including local flamenco dances and special guest appearances.
This year’s festival jury includes industry experts from both the United States and Europe, as well as local dignitary, City Councilman Oscar Gutierrez, who will help assess the myriad of entries.
The Ceylon International Film Festival continues to foster cross-cultural connections and promote cinematic excellence, making it a key event in Santa Barbara’s cultural calendar.
