Source: Spark Rescue

Meet Lilly this 2 year old petite female tabby loves to spend her time outside looking for bugs and chasing butterflies. Her hobbies include sun bathing and staring at the sky. She loves to take naps and roll in the cement and explore the plants in the garden. She adores dogs and loves running around the yard with them. She likes other cats but won’t play with them. Lily is very ritualistic. She knows when her meals are due and when it’s time to come inside. Lily has the sweetest meows to let you know when she wants to go outside and when it’s time for her treats.Lily is well behaved she doesn’t jump on counters or scratch furniture. She likes it when you carry her and rub her ears she is fully vetted and chipped and ready for a home to call her own. Lilly’s mom lives in Downey but will happily drive to Santa Barbara to meet a prospective adopters as she loves her dealer but can no longer keep Lilly. 1. An animal rescue should know better than to encourage letting cats outside. They are a huge threat to wildlife and kill millions of wild animals every year. Cats are wonderful but they definitely belong indoors and in 2019 we should know better.

  2. Agree! Very odd that Spark Rescue would describe a cat they are trying to place this way. Cat owners need to be educated that outdoor cats not only decimate wildlife but they don’t live as long if they are outdoors. Coyotes and now bobcats are killing a lot of SB cats all over the city this year in particular. If you must let cats out keep them in at dust and dawn.

  3. Oh stop it with the cat-lady nonsense. They’re not “promoting” outdoor life, they’re just describing what kitty likes to do. I love cats and have had them my whole life, indoor/outdoor. You just need to know when to bring them in and how to car for them. Yeah, indoor cats might live longer, but at what cost? Indoor only cats always look a little dead in the eyes and soul. Cats are beings too and shouldn’t be confined their entire lives. It’s not fair and it steals their souls.
