When a cat named Layla shows up, there is really only one appropriate response, and it involves dramatic guitar riffs.

Layla is a three-year-old cat at our Santa Maria campus who appreciates the quieter side of life. New people and loud noises can make her a little nervous, so she would very much prefer a calm home where the vibe is less arena rock and more soft acoustic set. Give her space, a peaceful environment, and a sunny window, and she settles right into her favorite hobbies.

Those hobbies include lounging in sunbeams like a tiny rock star on vacation and conducting extremely serious evaluations of every scratcher placed before her. She takes this responsibility very seriously. Quality control matters.

Now, we are not saying Layla will dramatically stare out the window thinking about lost love while whispering, “Layla, you’ve got me on my knees.” But we are also not saying she will not do that.

What we are saying is that if you have a quiet home and appreciate a cat who likes to do her own thing while occasionally blessing you with her presence, Layla might just be the perfect addition to your life.

Layla is waiting to meet you at our Santa Maria campus. We are open for adoptions from 12 to 4:30 PM every day except Wednesdays. Come see if Layla decides you are worthy of the encore.
