A car hauler caught fire on Highway 101 southbound near Buellton early Monday.

At 2:03 a.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to the Nojoqui Summit for a reported car fire.

When crews arrived they discovered a semi-truck with a trailer that was carrying four “exotic cars,” according to Captain Scott Safechuck.

The driver of the car carrier attempted to extinguish the fire prior to firefighter’s arrival but was unsuccessful. The fire had spread to the nearby brush off Highway 101.
