A vehicle caught fire after crashing into an oak tree on Storke Road’s northbound offramp from Highway 101 Saturday morning.

At 9:25 a.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters responded with two engines and a Batallion Chief, assisted by an ambulance and California Highway Patrol, to a report of a vehicle collision. They located a single vehicle that went off the roadway from Highway 101 northbound’s offramp at Storke Road and struck an oak tree.

There were two vehicle occupants that were able to self extricate before the vehicle caught fire. When firefighters arrived the vehicle was fully involved in fire, said SBC Public Information Officer Daniel Bertucelli.

Both occupants were assessed by medical personnel on the scene, one was uninjured and the other was transported to Cottage Hospital with minor injuries.

The Storke Road offramp from Highway 101 northbound is currently closed. The incident is under investigation.
