A project to apply a protective coating to preserve the decks of various bridges in Santa Barbara County will begin Tuesday, April 5.

This project will begin with the installation of signage and a striping operation on Highway 166 at the Miranda Creek Bridge and the Cuyama River Bridges weekdays from 7:30 am until 4 pm and during the overnight hours each week from Sunday night through Friday morning from 8 pm until 6 am.

Travelers can expect similar lane closures and one-way reversing traffic on Highway 154 at the San Lucas Creek Bridge near Solvang beginning Wednesday, April 6 from 7:30 am until 4 pm and on State Route 1 at Constellation Road near Lompoc on Thursday, April 7 during the overnight hours from 8 pm to 6 am.

The contractor for this $972,000 project is Velarde Concrete Construction of San Fernando, CA.  Delays should not exceed 10 minutes.  Message signs will assist motorists traveling through this area. This project is expected to be complete in June.

Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway work zones.
