In an effort to ensure public safety, the City of Goleta’s Public Works Department has temporarily closed the pedestrian crosswalk at Calle Real and Kingston Avenue. The flashing yellow beacons (lights) that are activated from the push buttons are not working properly. The replacement equipment has been ordered and the equipment will be installed as soon as it is received. We will let you know when the crosswalk is re-opened.
“Crosswalk Closed” signs with arrows have been placed at the crosswalk. Please follow the detours directing users to the crosswalks at either the Calle Real/Kellogg Avenue intersection or the Calle Real/Pedestrian crossing (at the shopping center near Kyle’s Kitchen).

Note that since it is at an intersection, it is still a legal crosswalk and vehicles must yield to pedestrians if they still choose to use that crossing.
