Synergy 768 Inc, the Brentwood-based full-service solar company, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in federal court on December 19, 2025, according to court records.
Court filings show that the company filed for Chapter 11 voluntary petition for bankruptcy at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California.

Synergy has appointed David C. Johnston as its attorney at law to represent the company in the bankruptcy proceedings.
According to the company, it does not have any prior bankruptcy cases filed by it or against the debtor in the last eight years. The company does not have any pending bankruptcy cases or cases that were filed by a business partner or an affiliate of its debtor.
Synergy filed the petition using Form 201, which is the primary form used by corporations to initiate a Chapter 11 bankruptcy case, which is a reorganization process, according to PACER.
Synergy’s available funds will be available for distribution to its unsecured creditors, according to the court filing.
The company lists its principal place of business at 9000 Brentwood Blvd in Brentwood, California, located in Contra Costa County. The company said it has had its domicile, principal place of business, or principal assets in the district for 180 days immediately preceding the date of filing the petition or for a longer period of 180 days than in any other district.
The petition was signed by Synergy’s CEO Edmundo Cotas. Cotas certified under penalty of perjury that the information provided in the court filing was correct and a copy of the resolutions by the board of directors at a special meeting held on December 1, 2025.

The company holds three types of its contractor’s licenses (general, solar, and electrical contractor licenses) and serves California and beyond.
The company’s services include residential and commercial solar installations, battery backup systems, EV level ⅔ charging stations, and smart home electric add-ons and maintenance.
Most solar installations are usually completed within 60 to 90 days of signing the contract, it said on its website.
