Buffleheads at the Slough

By Ronald Williams

A small group of buffleheads have arrived at their winter playground in Goleta Slough. They are small sea ducks who dive continuously due to their high metabolism. Here is a male that just bobbed up sporting a black and white tux and an iridescent green and purple head. Go to the eastern viewing platform at Goleta Beach to be entertained by their antics.
