Santa Barbara County firefighters aggressively attacked a two-acre brush fire near Sisquoc on Sunday afternoon.

Around 3:30 p.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to Old Rig Road off Cat Canyon and discovered a two-acre brush fire on the hillside burning at a slow rate of spread.

The fire was located in a remote area that was difficult to access but helicopters and air tankers assisted by making water and phos-chek drops, said Public Information Officer Mike Eliason.

Around 7:45 p.m., Eliason reported the fire was out and all resources were being released.

The fire was contained to 2 acres and the cause is under investigation.

I’ll always post useful information during fires and unusual weather events. Thanks to the email link I’ll attempt to post weather and fire image content as well. Thankfully we haven’t had any outrageous fires so far.

154/Calle Real, John Wiley reports from there during wildfires. We need everyone to find a way to post on Edhat with information during wildfires. It's important.

Roger, Tagdes helped. Who else helps with fire information? I know you often ask for others to help and post information. Doesn't Mountainman? Also, overnight, how do you get fire information posted, if Edhat isn't awake?
