Brush Fire Near Gaviota State Beach

Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to a brush fire above Gaviota State Beach on Friday afternoon.

The inital reports began above Gaviota Fire Peak Road near the hiking trailhead. 

Approximaely 2-3 acres of brush were on fire with the initial potential to grow 100 acres in size, but fire crews were able to stop the foward progress of the blaze.

A helicopter crew and hand crews weres activated to assist with the fire. 

The brush fire is reportedly under control. Edhat will update this article with more information as it becomes available.
