At 3:40 p.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to a reported vegetation fire on SR-154 near Windy Gap. Since the fire was within the Los Padres National Forest, the Los Padres Forest Service was already on scene.

Crews found 3-4 separate fires along the roadway that had merged into one fire. Firefighters contained the fire to less that one acre.

The highway was closed for a short time but at least one lane has reopened.

A Los Padres fire investigator is on the scene to determine the cause and Los Padres forest crews will remain in the area to mop up.
