A growing brush fire was contained to 27.5 acres at Vandenberg Space Force Base on Thursday afternoon.
After 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Vandenberg firefighters responded to a small brush fire at North Globe Road 9, located in the northern part of the base.
The grass fire, named the “Globe Fire,” was not located near personnel or property, though firefighters requested all personnel to avoid the area.
At 3:50 p.m., crews announced they contained the fire to 27.5 acres of grassland.
No injuries or facility damage have been reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
