Santa Barbara County firefighters contained a brush fire near Lompoc on Friday morning.
At 8:32 a.m., crews arrived at an adjacent field in the 700 block of Mercury Ave near Vandenberg Village.
With assistance from the Lompoc and Vandenberg Fire Departments, the forward progress of the fire was stopped at 10:08 a.m.
The total acreage of the fire was determined to be 0.44 acres.
Crews remained on the scene for mop up operations and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
