Forward progress of the fire was stopped as of 6:40 p.m. on Saturday. The Santa Barbara County Fire Department reports no injuries and the cause remains under investigation.
Highway 1 was closed in both directions between Black Road and Clark Avenue, but is now open.

Santa Barbara County Fire Department crews are responding to a vegetation fire reported after 5 p.m. Saturday, May 16, in the area of West Clark Avenue and Highway 1 in Orcutt.
Firefighters are on scene working to contain the blaze, and motorists are urged to use caution, expect possible delays, and avoid the immediate area to allow emergency access, officials said.
According to WatchDuty, the fire is burning approximately 2 acres of brush on the west side of Highway 1 with a moderate to rapid rate of spread. An air attack and air tankers have been requested.
