Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to a vegetation fire just south of Buellton around 11:26 a.m. on Friday. They arrived with a full vegetation response, including two air tankers and a water-dropping helicopter.

Crews discovered fire burning in grass and light brush. They were able to stop the forward progress of the fire in approximately 30 minutes, and at this time, have hoses around the entire fire. The fire is estimated to be contained at 4 acres.

No structures were threatened, no injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is still unknown. Air tankers were not needed, but the water-dropping helicopter was put to good use.
