At 12:56 pm, Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded with crews from the Los Padres Forest Department to the 4600 block of Armour Ranch Road in Santa Ynez, just east of the roundabout on SR-246.

Crews found a fast moving grass fire on the south side of Armour Ranch Road. Units made fast work of fire and stopped its forward progress at 11.5 acres.

SBC Fire Captain Dave Zaniboni reports full containment is expected and crews on scene are securing a good line around the fire while mopping up hot spots.

No structures were threatened and there were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation, but it appears to have started on the roadway.
