Broken Gas Pipe on Canon Perdido

Santa Barbara City Firefighters responded to a broken gas pipe on W. Canon Perdido early Monday morning.

At 6:40 a.m., fire crews and the Gas Company responded to the scene adjacent to Nordstrom’s, between Chapala and State Streets.

Businesses in the area, including the Paseo Nuevo Mall, were evacuated until the damaged pipe was repaired, which took approximately 20 minutes.

There were no reported injuries.
