I need to know how to report, very sad elderly man..on the bench...Hollister, Walnut...don't think he is a drunk...there everyday..sleeping..looking awful today..
Students, waiting for the bus stand..
Wish Ken Williams, was still here.
.would know what to do....
What services are to check the welfare on him ?
APS Adult protectives services or SBSO Actually police can make the decision weather or not to call APS, or give him a 72 hour hold if that is the case. Call SO to check his welfare.
On my walk around 11:30am I came across a gathering of police cars at Channel Drive and Butterfly Lane. A few people I talked to there heard gunfire around 11am and discovered an older man had shot and killed himself on the beach. Very sad.
Good observation. The media avoids reporting suicides, out of respect for families, but I don't think that does society a favor, and the cops don't issue press releases unless it is a very public event or a notable person. The problem is way bigger than most people realize. Even listening to scanner traffic you only get the dramatic emergency cases; no one hears about the quiet death in the privacy of one's home.

Sep 29, 2019 11:44 PMOr natural. Some people take control of their end of life. I intend and hope to.
Maybe some of us live too long these days. Many outlive assistance.
