Five days of every week, showers are offered at 7 different sites to persons experiencing homelessness in Santa Barbara, Goleta and Isla Vista. This can be provided in any area of the United States.

In addition to having a shower, participants are provided with grooming items, as well as, underwear and/or socks. After a participant showers, they are offered a meal. This program allows us to meet the participants, get to know their motivations and needs, and can result in the start of the process that will remove them from homelessness.

We are building a group of citizens who will take the necessary actions needed, on a national basis throughout the US, to solve the causes of homelessness.

We are offering you, your church, organization or business, the opportunity to be exceptional citizens of the community by providing services needed by persons experiencing homelessness, including permanent shelters.

Persons like you, also donate bicycles (in any condition) that we give (repaired if needed) to persons experiencing homelessness so they are able to get to work, appointments, etc.

We need you!

Join our group to help end homelessness for many persons:

In the same vein, just ran into a homeless elderly man in very bad shape in the Gelson's parking lot -- wife recently died, then without their combined income he was evicted and lost all his belongings, losing his sight, essentially a house creature thrown out into the outdoors, completely unequipped mentally and physically ---whose one blanket was just stolen with dusk coming down. Very concerned about him but have no idea who to call to keep an eye on him. I keep thinking of him though I tried to provide some warm/rain clothing and sleeping bag. I think of him as somebody who is in danger of dying in the park nearby, just as the people do in Oak Park. Please give suggestions.

If your talking to me I see it on the streets and hear it on my scanner constantly about 14 hours a day 7 days a week I also hear it from the homeless themselves. Last week a man was asked to leave the shelter the police were called and 5 minutes later a man with the same description was seen by my neighbor taking a big crap in our driveway. Gads! To even refuse to let a homeless man use the bathroom Horrible People but feel free to keep collecting money in their names. As far as the info on shelter jobs I subscribed by e-mail for the employment opportunities at these joints...I have friends watching out for that handicapped woman out there from what I have heard the only help she has received is from the Fellowship Club..

It's not that the taxpayers are not doing enough it's that the services that are supposed to be catering to the true homeless are not helping them enough..They have to pay themselves I think the lowest wages are 17. an hour or so and the higher ups they get much more of course. Then the services put restrictions and rules on the homeless they cannot get the service unless they do what they are told.. The woman that got beaten up because she would not perform a sex act on Christmas day would have to jump through hoops to get help but these crooks are more than happy to put money in their pockets in her name,

9:38: Contact 911 and they can direct your call and/or County of Santa Barbara Social Services. Time is well spent learning what resources we do offer locally and are already paying for, instead of what is often chronic helpless hand-wringing claiming "we are not doing enough". Doing enough is to at least familiarize oneself with both immediate and long term social services programs already in place. Put these numbers on your speed dial. Keeping in mind the service-resistant population we see on the streets are exactly that: service resistant, and do not reflect true state of the generous social support services that are taxpayer funded and provided regularly in this city and county.

9:38 - Please go take him some warm clothes or anything you can, it does help! My wife and I brought a couple seeking shelter at Girsh park last year some blankets and socks as it was raining and cold. They were so thankful. Not sure who you can call to check on him though, other than the police.

Will the toxicology report outweigh the night time temperature recording?
