A bicyclist crashed during a medical event in Los Alamos Saturday morning

At 10:05 a.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to the 9200 block of Foxen Canyon Road for a reported bicycle collision with an injury.

A bystander witnessed a bicyclist crash from an apparent cardiac arrest and began performing CPR while firefighter paramedics and an ambulance arrived, according to Captain Scott Safechuck.

The bicyclist was then trasnported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital by a CalStar helicopter.

Captain Safechuck reported the bicyclist was speaking on arrival to the emergency room.

Me too. There was a bicyclist in front of us last night as dusk was settling. He hit a curb making a right hand turn down a one-way street and went down in the middle of the street. He had no bike light or helmet on. Had we been looking up the street opposite his fall, we easily could have missed it and run right over him - not to mention people coming down the one way street. Be safe out there and look out for one another. For the record. We stopped and helped him up. He seemed stunned, but relatively OK.

Another Hero "bystander"!
I can't even imagine what that would be like, just riding along... maybe if your lucky realize your on the ground, then an "Angel" appears bringing you back.
Hope that "The patient" (bicyclist) fully recovers.
