With possible El Nino rain in the long-range forecast, I got to thinking about how much our area would change with some significant rainfall. If we get a downpour, will they have to dig out the Carp debris basin again?

Will construction at the Miramar be finished enough to avoid damage?  Is it possible Cachuma will spill this season? Did you see those soft clouds beyond Camino Ceilo? They weren't just a warning to pilots of potential turbulence. They're evidence of the approaching storm.

Want to share any predictions on how (if?) these aerial views will change by the end of our rainy season?

Thank you, John, for the photos. I want rain. El Nino rain is fine with me. Please no rain violence against the Thomas Fire burn area. Our Montecito friends have had enough.

These are beautiful! We often don't see the gorgeous storm cloud formations that are behind the mountain tops! Also it's great to see a decent amount of water in Lake Cachuma. Thanks for sharing them :)

Afraid making any predictions would put a hex on us! Just hoping for a real winter with enough slow steady rain to break the drought. But no predictions....
