Avocado Festival Cancelled Until 2022

By edhat staff

Carpinteria’s California Avocado Festival has been cancelled until 2022 due to the rise in COVID-19 cases.

Event organizers made the announcement on social media Friday afternoon stating they were faced with challenges that “did not make it feasible or safe to move forward.”

“This decision was made due to capacity concerns, the changing nature of COVID-19, and to minimize the potential risk to members of our community as well as the several thousand out of town visitors that attend the event each year,” the statement read.

The annual event has taken place for the past 39 years in October but was cancelled last year, also due to COVID-19.

A pop-up shop will continue at the Carpinteria Farmer’s Market.

More information about the annual event can be found at avofest.com.
