ATV Driver Sustained Major Injuries in Solvang

A 59-year-old man sustained major injuries after flipping a quad ATV in Solvang on Sunday afternoon.

At 4:27 p.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to the 900 block of Ballard Canyon for a reported motor vehicle accident. Fire crews along with AMR ambulance located the driver who was pinned under the four-wheeled ATV after flipping the vehicle on private property. 

Crews along with a neighbor helped remove the ATV off the driver, who was not wearing a helmet and sustained major upper body injuries.

A Calstar helicopter was dispatched to fly the man to Santa Barbara County Hospital.
