Attempted Break-In Caught on Camera

By an edhat reader

Does anyone recognize these two people who tried to break into my home this afternoon and oddly stole a dog brush from my front porch? We live a block from west beach near Bath & Mason (behind Hotel Milo / Sambos). The man’s first name is apparently Charlie or Charles. The police have been notified but wanted others in the neighborhood to keep an eye out so they don’t try to get into your home as well. After leaving my porch they proceeded to open our gate and walked in the backyard to see if they could get into the house from the rear. They apparently didn’t notice that we have several cameras all over the house inside and out. For a better look at the individuals, you can view one of the security video clips at https://video.nest.com/clip/84b9cc8a729e48f684ceb0df5b0802b1.mp4.

  1. 1150, your statement is ridiculous and please keep politics out…this isn’t political.
I live in the neighborhood. About 2 blocks away. Sorry, the nuts are at 7-11, they don’t wander around there. They go between the Fig tree and 7-11. I walk right by this ladies house every night on a walk with my kids. There are no liberal conspiracies happening…

  2. Sharing the story with the public and asking for help is one thing. Naming names and workplace without a positive ID is another. KYKY0902 says the guys name is John, the victim said, “… The man’s first name is apparently Charlie or Charles.”

    Thank you and you’re welcome.

  4. Two people DID NOT try to “break” into this home. These are the homeless of your neighborhood. This is what liberals choose not to address. This is only the beginning of an epidemic. The woman is clearly expressing lack of mental awareness. The guy associates with her on that level. He walks up and leaves with no interest. She is actually watering the plants. She only notices the camera at the end and in clear defiance, takes a brush. Your neighborhood is flowing with these people. Cameras don’t change the facts, they only capture them.
