On Saturday, June 7, 2025, the Santa Barbara Museum of Art will once again transform into a vibrant celebration of design, storytelling, and community with the return of its signature event: Art of the Table.

Hosted by the SBMA Women’s Board, this annual gathering showcases the talents of leading interior designers, tastemakers, and boutiques who create inspired tablescapes in homage to the art that surrounds them—merging fine art and fine living under one elegant roof.

This year’s featured participants are as diverse and imaginative as ever, with each bringing a distinct perspective rooted in craftsmanship, storytelling, and Santa Barbara’s inimitable style. Here’s a closer look at the creative visionaries who will set the table for this one-of-a-kind event.

Cabana Home

Design duo Caroline and Steve Thompson of Cabana Home have spent nearly two decades redefining classic Santa Barbara style through a lens of modern sophistication. From their early days at Neiman Marcus to building over 30 homes across the country, the Thompsons now helm a by-appointment-only showroom inside “Fabled Gables,” a historic 1874 Victorian. Their table promises refined elegance featuring luxury makers like Thibaut, Baker, and Arteriors, curated with the same thoughtful touch that defines their design studio.

Coast 2 Coast Collection

Located in the picturesque La Arcada Courtyard, Coast 2 Coast Collection is a Santa Barbara treasure trove of artist-driven tabletop, gifts, and heritage housewares. Owners Holly and Bob Murphy have cultivated a mix of timeless brands—think Baccarat, Christofle, and Versace—that carry stories as rich as their designs. Their participation in Art of the Table reflects their deep commitment to community and a love of entertaining rooted in authenticity.

Emily Joubert

Judy Sieber’s Emily Joubert stores—now with a Montecito location—are extensions of a family legacy rooted in European elegance and a collector’s eye for storytelling. Every piece, from Hungarian antiques to jars of garden honey, is hand-selected with care. Her table will offer a romantic homage to generations past, inspired by her grandmother’s refined grace.

Habitat Home and Garden

A third-generation family business, Habitat Home and Garden celebrates the original and the enduring. Their table will reflect their global design ethos—featuring hand-crafted pieces that honor artisanal traditions and embrace nature’s imperfections. Expect an earthy, elegant tableau that feels both grounded and transportive.

Jamie Hallows brings 22 years of interior design expertise to Harrison Design, where her seamless integration of architecture and interiors results in highly customized spaces. With recent features in Santa Barbara Magazine and California Homes, Jamie’s table will no doubt showcase a refined, holistic sensibility, merging form and function with an artistic flair.
