Arroyo Burro Open Space Restoration Nearly Complete

Source: City of Santa Barbara

The Arroyo Burro Open Space Restoration and Trail Improvement Project, which began in June of this year, is nearly complete.

The project includes restoration along Arroyo Burro and the Campanil drainage, creation of formal trail routes, and the installation of a pedestrian bridge across Arroyo Burro from Las Positas Road into the park. The project has experienced unavoidable delays, and construction activities have been suspended at the project site pending the delivery of the pedestrian bridge and waterline materials.

It is expected that construction of the project will start up again next month and be complete in early December, with final landscaping complete around the end of the year. The completed trails are now open to the public.

The City asks that visitors please stay out of areas enclosed with orange fencing and off the erosion control materials as they can be easily damaged by foot traffic.
