Major police response to the Jack in the Box restaurant in the 3700 block of State Street for a reported armed robbery.
Heard it around 7:30p (tonite, Saturday) and just got to the computer.
Details I heard was that a Hispanic male suspect on foot was armed with a “long gun,” assuming some type of rifle but unsure if automatic, wearing dark clothing, possibly a black hat and a red mask with a dark backpack.
The suspect has yet to be apprehended and was last seen walking towards Prestige car wash. Dispatch stated he only stole about $200 from the register.
Detectives and investigators en route. I assume they’ll be scouring the area.
Was there a crime committed? Less than $950 taken. Not sure if it’s illegal to carry a rifle around.
