Apartment Fire in Isla Vista

Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to a structure fire inside an Isla Vista apartment building on Friday afternoon.

At 2:39 p.m. crews arrived at 6555 Picasso Road, Unit 4 and discovered a fire burning in the second story of a multi-unit apartment building.

Firefighters were able to knock down the fire within five minutes of arrival. There was one occupant inside the apartment who was able to get out but complained of smoke inhalation. The patient was treated on scene by medical personnel. 

There were no other injuries reported. The fire is under investigation.
