Santa Barbara County Animal Services is helping all adoptable animals find a “Home for the Holidays” by discounting adoption fees and providing free microchips to adopted pets. This holiday season, we want to engage the community and help all of our adoptable animals find a home on Saturday, December 15, by offering $25 adoption fees for animals 6 months and over.

Animal Services is kicking off their Home for the Holidays campaign earlier than past years to assist our animals with the transition into their new homes. Animals can be stressed by the transition into a new home and we know the holidays can be just as stressful. Animal Services encourages potential adopters to take advantage of this one-day event so their new family member can be well settled prior to all of the holiday excitement.

With each adoption, you will receive a precious companion that has been spayed or neutered, is current on all vaccinations, is microchipped, and is ready to bring an abundance of love as well as a complimentary bag of Science Diet Food. With savings of over 80% on all dog and cat adoptions, this is the perfect time of year to open your heart to a shelter animal. $13 dog license fees do apply.

Bring the whole family and make your holiday a little brighter by opening your home to a new pet. “Our staff and volunteers work very hard throughout the year to find loving permanent homes for our animals. Our hope is that we can get as many animals as possible into loving homes in time for the holidays,” said Stacy Silva, Community Outreach Coordinator.

Come join our festivities and meet our adoptable pets at one of Santa Barbara County’s three animal shelters; The Santa Barbara Shelter at 5473 Overpass Rd (home to BUNS and ASAP too), the Lompoc Shelter at 1501 West Central, or the Santa Maria Animal Center at 548 West Foster Rd. All three shelters will be open from 10 a.m.- 4p.m. on Saturday, December 15. Bring a little love “Home for the Holidays!”
