I've been asking colleagues and friends, but it seems like I'm the only one having many allergy attacks with the new spring weather. Are any other edhatters having the same experience?

Allergies Anyone?

Born and raised here, have had massive allergies from day one. However, I'm proactive with taking the generic Claritin (LOVE Costco for this!!) and I'm generally ok. The only thing that it doesn't prevent is that horrible cough that comes when it's windy as you know what for days in a row. It seems to bypass my sinuses and just settle in my throat and chest. With dogs they call it "kennel cough" - that's how I feel.

Allergies Anyone?

I have seasonal allergies, mostly to grass pollen which picks up typically from April to May depending on how much rain we got and wind conditions. Starting to feel symptoms now. Flonase nasal spray (CVS generic) and Ketotifen eye drops do a great job to help me get by. Shout out to Dr. Liebhaber @Sansum for helping me manage my allergies since I was in college!

You might try Mucinex or it's generic. It helps me get the deep grunge out of the bottom of my lungs, etc. better than constant hacking.

With the winds in spring allergies are a constant dreaded occurrence. No, you're not the only one. The key is finding some kind of meds that offer relief 'coz what gets me sneezing like a banshee in spring is not the same that gets me in late summer or fall and not all allergy meds work on the same irritants... at least not for me.

So many beautiful flowers in bloom right now-I wouldn’t be surprised... And they’ve all been generously “fed” with rain in the past couple of months.

I have been going through the Gauntlet of Allergy symptoms for weeks. It's the horrible cough keeping me up all night that is taking its toll on me. It comes from the congestion. Nothing like Spring and crazy winds to make those of us with allergies to suffer.

I used to have similar unbearable itchy eyes and interminable nasal flow every Spring, and would go through Kleenex by the case for many years. I tried every thing I could think of for relief. HEPA filtered furnace fan 24/7, Dust mask, etc. Claritin would work for a few hours, but I ultimately developed an allergic reaction with elevated (1500) eosinophils that required a medical consult. Then one Spring, I noticed that the flowers on the myriad olive trees that surround my property were be ginning to open and shed pollen. A little Google research listed olive pollen as one of the most allergenic. About that time Flonase hit the market, and because it claimed to reduce eosinophils, I tried it. Flonase works. Now, a dose of Flonase first thing in the morning, and I'm symptom-free until bedtime. What a relief. Allergy symptoms can be exhausting to almost debilitating. Kudos to the scientists at GSK for creating such a remarkably effective elixir vitae.

Yesterday I was sure I had a cold, all the symptoms and felt icky. I didn't go to the Edhat party because I didn't want to share germs. Today I'm fine, must have been allergies.
