Alarms at Santa Barbara High

By an edhat reader

Multiple alarms rang out on Santa Barbara High School campus, starting at 4:00 am Saturday, September 4, 2021.  The surprisingly loud Klaxons could be heard throughout the neighborhoods surrounding SBHS.  A concerned neighbor on Olive Street called 911.  The dispatcher asked if it sounded like Fire, or Burglary, alarms, but it was unknown, just especially loud Klaxons.  A concern was that the chlorine works for the pool could be in danger.  After 35 minutes, most of the loud alarms were silenced, but one higher pitched alarm continued, finally ceasing at 4:45 am.
The alarms seemed to come from the pool/gym area by Olive St. and Carrillo St., but it was not certain from the neighborhood, exactly what facility was in need of attention.

Alarms finally ceased at 4:45 am, after sounding for 45 minutes.  Hopefully everything is okay at the old alma mater.  Go Dons!

UPDATE:

After most alarms ceased at SBHS, one faint alarm rang til 5:40 am.

Mysteriously, one faint alarm continued ringing at SBHS, until 5:40 am Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021. The majority of the surprisingly loud alarms rang from 4:00 am to 4:45 am.  Hopefully the SBHS campus is being checked.
