In the old days, taking the air was about promenading with your sweetie. For us a few days ago, it meant getting Up for a breath of the clear Fall air and a look around to share with you. After the busy time of takeoff, thanks to the Santa Barbara Flying Club we had a moment to take in Santa Barbara's colorful harbor area. (see above)

Next we enjoyed the magnificent view from coast to mountains beyond Montecito.

Climbing to the North we saw this fire suppression jet standing ready at Santa Maria.

After lunch at Oceano we lifted off back toward home and enjoyed this Fall glimpse of Los Alamos from vineyard to celebrated eateries.

Then in the gathering warmth of a glorious sunset, Cachuma glowed with a promise of replensihment.

The heart shape in the vineyard photo must be deliberate.

Montecito's burn scar sure hasn't healed much yet! We were surprised how stark it still looks even after the recent rainy days. Sure hope we don't have another downpour before there's some growth to protect everyone. Will the new debris basins be enough?

I was surprised how long it took me to identify the lake with the 3 islands as the Bird Refuge. Once I got that it was like all the surroundings just Popped into perspective. Montecito Inn, Coast Village Drive, the Golf Course, the hills - and it's a glorious display from a perspective we don't get from the ground. I also particularly love the one from Los Alamos with the fall leaves coloring display of the vineyards - spectacular! Thank You so much for sharing these with everyone.

Are those sand bars angling out above Stearns to East Beach in the harbor pic? After watching that video about the sand scallops a few days ago, it would make sense that the pier pilings would make "shadow" lines in the sand current. Has anyone dived there who saw some? Maybe they're just wave shadows?

Thanks to Great SB weather and clear air, capturing glimpses of the beauty hereabouts is easier than many places. So thanks for the encouraging words, ZeroHawk.
