A civilian staff member, who was tested in the community after becoming symptomatic, has been found to be COVID-19 positive. The staff member consistently wore a mask and worked near an inmate cleaning crew that wore full PPE. The staff member became symptomatic after leaving work on Wednesday morning and was tested later that day. The staff member did not return to work after becoming symptomatic and received a positive test result yesterday.

This brings the total number of Sheriff’s Office employees who have tested positive for COVID-19 to 38, with 32 having recovered and returned to work. The staff continue to recover at home include 1 custody deputy, 3 civilian staff, and 2 sheriff’s deputies.

"The staff member consistently wore a mask and worked near an inmate cleaning crew that wore full PPE" - I wonder how the person got it then? If not from the prison, then at some point outside of work. Just shows how contagious this thing is!
