Beautiful, clear, comprehensive photo! Thank you!
I apologize for the glare in the shot but it was too good to pass up a quick shot.
Very cool. I love seeing the view of the canyons like this. So what is the square of dirt at the bottom of the photo? Tajiguas landfill? And what are the things that look like parking lots to the north/right of the 101 before the 101 bends? And thanks for all the aerial photos you post, MaxPilot.
Yeah Tajiguas landfill, and the upper structure is Mariposa Reina – the oil processing plant just east of Gaviota. Cool shot. I’d love to see a photo of Pt. Conception if you ever get out that way.
Yes that’s the Tajiguas Landfill. The only landfill in the nation sitting a few yards from the ocean. Good job Santa Barbara County. And now they want to make it even bigger so that another 10 years of trash can be squashed into it.
It’s more of a Gaviota shot than a Hollister Ranch shot, which is in the far distance. Yes, landfill. You can see Arroyo Quemada road. Mariposa Reina old school site. The big highway 101 bend with Gaviota State Park parking lot. THEN Hollister Ranch out past all that. Very cool shot.
Great shot!!
