6 Acre Brush Fire Contained Near Santa Maria

Santa Barbara County firefighters contained a grass fire to 6 acres near Santa Maria on Friday afternoon.

At 1:27 p.m., firefighters responded with a full brush response to Black Road and Highway 1 in the Tanglewood area of Santa Maria. Crews found grass burning in the area and contained the fire to 6 acres.

There were no evacuations or structures threatened, reports Captain Dave Zaniboni.

Four engines, one helicopter, and one hand crew are on scene. The cause is under investigation.
