  1. According to this link, police dogs from Europe understand the native language (e.g. German, Dutch, Slavic languages). They can become bilingual quickly but more importantly they bond with their handler and become accustomed to his/her voice – so the bad guy wouldn’t command the dog even if he yelled out “geh das schnitzel holen!” (Google translation for “go fetch the schnitzel!”) …… https://www.lehighvalleylive.com/breaking-news/index.ssf/2013/02/speaking_their_language_police.html
