3CE Warns of Scammers Representing Their Company

The other day a neighbor asked me if I had guys knocking on my door after 7:00 p.m. claiming to be from Central Coast Community Energy.

He said they asked to see his current energy bill making it seem like they can cut their costs. Neighbor said they were wearing shirts with logos and everything but seemed off and refused to show them anything so they left.

I didn’t experience this but did recently see the Central Coast Community Energy (3CE) post on social media warning about these scammers.

Apparently this has been happening up and down the Central Coast, which 3CE serves, and it could be a scam where they take photos of your energy bill with all your information and sell your identity.

See their post below:

3CE has received word that scammers are knocking on doors in our service area, pretending to be 3CE representatives. 3CE will NEVER come to your home or knock on your door.
