The 31st Annual Goleta Lemon Festival had live music, dancing, food, a car show, carnival rides, a climbing wall, information booths and everything to do with lemons.
Lots of fire, police and rescue equipment and personnel were on display for the occasion.
One of the big attractions at the Festival was a big car show. Ranging from antiques of the early 20th century on up through what were normal cars in my 1960s-1970s childhood on up to recent models.
This year some bicycles were included, too!
Some of the owners were on hand to talk about their cars.
This 1986 Corvette had the hood flipped up. Notice the tucked away headlights!
People come to the Festival for the lemon treats, but there was a variety of other food, too. For the first time, Filipino food! Unfortunately, my island girl wife had oral surgery and can’t eat real food for now. But I very much enjoyed their skewered chicken and pancit. Almost as good as Merlie’s!
Of course I had a delicious lemon bar.
This young woman posed with lemon tree art while holding her fresh lemonade in hand.
The other big attraction: Music and dancing. Here the Mark Alvarado Band was finishing up with “Evil Ways” and a young lady enjoyed having the whole dance floor to herself!
But there was hardly any room at all on the dance floor when Area 51 drew a huge dance crowd.
These World Dance for Humanity dancers posed for a group shot after they were done dancing to Area 51.
There was a very different kind of dancing on the dance floor, too. Here, 2024 Junior Spirit of Fiesta Aleenah Soriano showed off her skills, talents and joy.
Followed by these Zermeno Dance Academy students. Many of their students go on to be Spirit or Junior Spirit of Fiesta.
There were also lots of games and rides for kids. These kids were playing miniature golf.
Non-stop bungee jumping with trampolines. This one girl was especially good at doing back flips.
This little train made its way through the crowd.
These kids energetically climbed the rock wall, then rappelled down.
Again, be sure to check out more of my many photos here!
