Residents of Lompoc Valley experienced a tremor Sunday night as a magnitude 3.6 earthquake struck the area, confirmed by the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The seismic event occurred southwest of Lompoc, near San Miguelito Road, making its presence felt shortly after 9:00 p.m.
Initial reports from the USGS and local authorities indicate that the earthquake did not result in any injuries or significant damage to the area.
The absence of reported aftershocks following the initial quake has provided some relief to residents, though residents from Santa Maria to Santa Barbara reported feeling the rumble.
