Public will review refined design concepts shaped by community input and invite continued public feedback.

The community is invited to participate in the second Public Design Workshop for the New Orcutt Library Project. This interactive workshop will provide residents, families, students, business owners, and community stakeholders an opportunity to review updated design concepts, share feedback, and help shape the future of the new library facility.

Building on input gathered during the first public workshop, the design team will present refined site concepts, building layout options, and program features that reflect community priorities. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with project representatives, ask questions, and provide meaningful input that will inform the next phase of design.

The New Orcutt Library is envisioned as a modern, welcoming civic space that supports literacy, lifelong learning, and technology access while providing dedicated spaces for children’s programming, teen engagement, quiet study, collaboration, and flexible community gatherings. The facility is being designed to serve residents of all ages and to function as a vibrant hub for education, connection, and community activity.

“Our community has played an important role in shaping the vision for the new Orcutt Library,” said Board of Supervisors Chair Bob Nelson. “We appreciate everyone who has shared their ideas so far and encourage continued public input as the design moves forward. This workshop is an opportunity to help create a welcoming space that supports learning, connection, and opportunity for generations to come.”

Workshop Details:
Date: Tuesday, March 31, 2026
Time: 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Location: Oasis Center, 420 Soares Ave, Orcutt, CA 93455

Community participation is essential to ensure the new library reflects the values, needs, and aspirations of Orcutt residents. Whether you attended the first workshop or are joining the conversation for the first time, your voice is important in shaping a library that will serve the community for generations to come.

Attendance is free and open to the public. Children are welcome. A craft area will be provided. Light refreshments will be provided.
