We’re sticking to our annual tradition of polling edhat readers on their New Year’s Resolutions.
Most years edhatters stick to the usual trend lines of the general American public when polled on their resolutions. The top three goals tend to focus on being healthier, saving money, and spending more time with loved ones.
What resolutions are on your list? Take the edhat poll below.
WalletHub conducted a poll to see what types of resolutions folks are making for 2026, specifically in terms of personal finance.
Almost 60% of people are hopeful that 2026 will be better for their wallet than 2025. However, more than 3 in 5 Americans expect to spend less money on New Year’s plans this year compared to last year and more than 1 in 4 Americans are planning to make finance-related New Year’s resolutions.
With inflation growing the cost of living has increased more than half of Americans say inflation is their biggest financial concern for 2026.

The photo at the top of the article said it best! I aim to be kinder. Imagine if we were all a little less reactive, a little kinder….
