  1. Does anyone know that the original manufacturer of the RTq-pcr tests says they should not, solely, be used for diagnostic purposes?
And here’s a bit from the CDC document about the test (be alarmed):
“Detection of viral RNA not only aids in the diagnosis of illness but also provides epidemiological and
    surveillance information.”
Thats right surveillance…let that sit in your nostrils for a while…

  2. I give the Santa Barbara Health care community an “A” for how well they have handled and advised this situation. Comparing our team to the shenanigans and crazy town issues in other counties across the U.S.? We’re quite fortunate. If only they could add a detailed report on the severity of outcomes. Categorize headache, body ache, sore throat, etc. and longevity for each case. As we all know, viral infections are different for different people lasting from 1 day to weeks. Lumping it all together in just a “recovered” bucket leaves out way too much information on how to best move forward.

  3. Yes, Shasta. Unfortunately for those who realized this, we were penalized by the majority in this county, and throughout California, that is was and still think it is a death sentence. To think this wrecked our freedoms, way of life, businesses, and economy makes me shake my head in disgust at the government’s overreach.

  4. I am still trying to understand how so many people don’t get the difference between “cases” and “deaths.” It doesn’t matter if the entire population of the United States was tested positive for the virus as long as the death rate remains at the level it has. If we exclude the twin states of New York and New Jersey, which account for at least 40% of the death total, the country has less than a 2% death rate and 3% if we include those two states. And about half of all deaths nationally have been in nursing facilities.

  5. @ DTOM: Which is why I will not allow anyone in my family to get tested and why Chemicalsuperfreak sarcastically commented a couple of weeks ago on another EH thread something to the effect that “The government thanks you for your kind contribution to our tracking and surveillance database.” And I don’t think many people realize that the CDC is a heavily biased, left-leaning bureaucracy, with a history of failures and not admitting mistakes it has made.

  6. The majority of those who tested positive in the prison have been asymptomatic. I think the Lompoc prison outbreak will become an informative case study because everyone is being tested and we can see the full picture of how the virus impacts a population sample. https://lompocrecord.com/news/local/lompoc-prison-confirms-792-total-covid-19-cases-additional-death-reported-in-lompoc/article_dac182a5-3474-5398-96a8-3df5748f63e1.html
