The final average on the Santa Ynez vegetation fire was mapped at 139 acres. The cause of the blaze is still undetermined.

Santa Barbara County Firefighters have stopped the forward progress of a 40-acre brush fire near the Santa Ynez airport that broke out Monday afternoon.
At 1:31 p.m., Santa Barbara County Fire crews assisted by Los Padres Forest officials, responded to a report of a vegetation fire just south of the Santa Ynez Airport. Crews found approximately 3-5 acres burning in light grass between the airport and Gainey vineyard property.
As of 2:45 p.m., Captain Dave Zaniboni reported the forward progress had mostly stopped around 40 acres while crews continue to work on hotspots. One structure, a processing plant on the Gainey Vineyard property, was temporarily threatened. Nothing was damaged and no injuries were reported.
The cause is under investigation.

A fire broke out around 1:40pm at or near the Santa Ynez Airport. A loud noise was heard followed by a large plume of smoke and fire. Fire crews on the scene and one water dropping helicopter appear to have it under control as of 2pm.
